Peaceful parenting
We believe focusing on peaceful parenting will have the greatest impact on children’s futures. By taking an empathetic approach, you will help your child develop their ability to navigate relationships and the world around them.
A guiding hand, not a magic wand
Who is The Parent’s Companion for? Anyone involved in raising a child.
But unlike Mary Poppins or Nanny McPhee, we’re not here to sprinkle some magic and fix everything for you. We’re here to empower you.
With our support, you lead the process and you make all the decisions. We’ll give you the strategies and tools and you’ll gain the skills and confidence to take the right steps to get to where you want to be as a family.
Think of the process of learning to ride a bike. Our support is like using a balance bike rather than stabilisers. It will feel wobbly in the beginning. And it’s probably not the way you were taught as a child. But you’ll end up more confident by the end and you’ll be less reliant on outside help.
From overwhelmed to overjoyed
Some of the changes we’ll be asking you to make might feel hard at first. For you and your child. But you’re not doing this alone, we’ll be supporting you along the way, holding your hand as you take action.
Reassurance
Sometimes it takes the smallest changes to rebalance the fundamentals. The first shift is often around mindset and your expectations of your child. With age-appropriate guidance you’re likely to see that what’s going on is a normal part of your child’s development. This reassurance brings clarity and empathy, without the layers of worry you were piling on yourself. From here we can work towards reaching a place that aligns with your child and allows you to thrive as a family.
Regulation
As a parent or guardian, it’s down to you to create change for your child through your own self-regulation and how you’re communicating and connecting with them. You’re probably feeling overwhelmed right now. It’s important to acknowledge that this is down to what’s been going on around you rather than any indication of your abilities as a parent. Think of our experts as trusted friends to support your self-regulation and help you establish and uphold your own empathetic limits.
Relief
Getting support requires more than a financial investment. Chances are you’ll see an immediate improvement from our suggestions. But for this to work longer term, you must be prepared to implement and maintain the changes. There’s no quick fix and we’re not going to solve your problems for you. Instead, we’ll equip you with the strategies and tools you need to create your own sustainable solution. You’ll find yourself coming out the other side feeling like a new family.
Trust yourself
Perhaps, like many families, you’ve had your worries dismissed at points on your parenting journey.
As far as we’re concerned, when it comes to your child, you’re the expert. You’ll always be listened to and, more importantly, you’ll be heard. Your experiences and observations are the starting point of our time together.
